Isi artikelPrevention of dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) began to be prioritized in school since majority of DHF cases was found in school children, especially in groups of children under 15 years old. Prevention of DHF in school was implemented by teacher role as DHF health educator for student at school. This study was one of school community mobilization models in Semarang for DHF prevention programs. The model compared two methods of health education such as an active learning approach with poster and leaflet media approach. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of implementation model to knowledge, attitudes, practice (KAP) and self-efficacy of teachers in DHF in schools. This study was a quasi experiment research with community intervention studies. The research used nonequivalen control group design. The sample of the study was physical education teachers in primary school in Tembalang subdistrict (intervention group) and Pedurungan Tengah Village, Pedurungan subdistrict (comparison group) which was selected purposively. The results showed that knowledge, practices and self-efficacy of teachers which had training in active learning method was higher than the group of teachers who received education leaflets and posters. Active learning method capable significantly for improving knowledge, practices and self-efficacy of teachers in DHF prevention (p value<0,05). Teachers self efficacy as health promotor in school on the group with active learning method was higher than the group that had poster and leaflet media. Active learning method was recomended for DHF health education at primary school.
