It is good that you have finally arrived and have entered our house. Be at peace and at ease. May it be so for those you left behind in the places where you have come from. Let me say at the outset that the Philippines is delighted that the theme of the forthcoming World Council of Churches assembly in Korea in 2013 is a prayer that we be led to peace and justice. For us in this archipelago, peace and justice follow the eschatological principle of having been realized in Jesus Christ and of reaching final fulfilment when he comes again. Christ is our peace. As scripture would tell us, his life radiates justice, a state of human dignity that rests squarely on the fact of each human being having been created in God's image.
