Larvasides have been used since a long time ago in eradication of larva stage of malarial vectors. At vector’s breeding places which were a neglected shrimp pond on south area of Kabupaten Ciamis, larvasides couldn’t be used because the pond’s owner worried that it would kill the shrimps maintained in productive pond areas which were still one overlay and using the same water source with the breeding places. In order to confi rm, a study performed to determine the eff ectiveness of larvasides containing Bacillus thuringiensis serotype H-14 (BTI H-14) as active ingredient against Anopheles sundaicus larvae and it’s eff ect on shrimp fry. The study was conducted in the fi eld using two kinds of larvaside, Vectobac WDG and Vectobac 12 AS, against LC 90 which was resulted from preliminary study in laboratory and recommended concentrations. It was concluded that the two kinds of larvaside, at each concentration used, was eff ective to kill An. sundaicus instar III larvae without killing the shrimp fry PL-12. So it is safe to be used at malarial vector’s breeding places in shrimp pond areas.
