Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is one of the causes of infertility because of ovulation process failure. The incidence of PCOS is higher in reproductive age, but the etiology is still unknown. The gold standard procedure for PCOS diagnosis is laparoscopy. Women who don’t plan to concieve can use oral contraceptives containing combination of synthetic oestrogen and progesterone to suppress ovarii function and therefore reduce testosterone. Main treatment for overweight polycystic ovary syndrome women is bodyweight reduction. This simple way sometimes induced spontaneous ovulation process. Recently, gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) analogue is used to suppress high LH (luteinizing hormone) level but less suppress FSH (follicle stimulating hormone) secretion and prolactin synthesis.
