Abstract
This study aimed at students' ability by using folktale in a form of storytelling to enhance their speaking. The participants of this study were 30 9th grade students in one class from Marsudirini Bekasi Middle School. In the data collection process, students are asked to fill out a questionnaire containing 9 question items about the activity that they have undergone given by the researcher. The finding of this study has been analyzed based on the student’s participance, contribution and difficulties on the activity as well from the questionnaire that they have been given. The results also show that the students actively participated because the activity was interesting and made them grow confident in speaking. Most students like when folktale and the use of storytelling is used in the learning process.
