In Indonesia's higher education institutions, the TOEFL exam assessing students' proficiency in English for academic and professional purposes is a mandatory requirement for graduation. Students have limited the amount of time available for traditional study methods. This study investigates student perceptions of using YouTube video-based learning as a learning tool for TOEFL preparation and focuses on how these digital resources can address challenges, particularly in mastering the TOEFL test. The research collects quantitative data through two primary methods. First, an observational analysis of selected YouTube videos was conducted, utilizing a checklist table with Mayer’s Cognitive Theory of Multimedia Learning. Second, a questionnaire based on Fred Davis’s Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) was administered to 30 university students (17 male and 13 female) to collect students' perceptions on the usefulness and ease of use of YouTube videos as a learning platform for TOEFL preparation. The findings of the analysis of the YouTube video "TOEFL with Juva" demonstrate that the videos implement key principles of multimedia learning, ensuring that the content is both engaging and accessible for students. Based on these results, the survey shows that the YouTube video "TOEFL with Juva" possesses aspects of simplicity, convenience, and usefulness that are favored by the majority of respondents. |
