Abstract
This research will be based on Social-Emotional Learning (SEL). Understanding why SEL is important for student-teachers to utilize in classroom instruction is crucial. A gap in existing research lies in the lack of exploration regarding how these SEL factors relate to their anticipation of the challenges they might encounter during their initial year of teaching. Therefore, this research aims to explain how student-teachers address challenges in classroom teaching and investigate whether awareness of SEL contributes to effective teaching and learning. This research will initially address this gap by investigating student-teachers' awareness of the importance of SEL during their teaching assistantship/internship. The study sought to determine their perceptions of the significance of incorporating SEL into EFL learning within the context of their teaching assistantship. This research employed quantitative methods to collect data. The researcher utilized a questionnaire with a Likert scale to assess the perspectives of 20 student-teachers who participated in the Teaching-Assistantship program in schools. This research also aimed to inspire and encourage more student-teachers to be aware of SEL in EFL learning, given its demonstrated benefits for teaching and learning. The findings sought to determine the student-teachers' perceptions of utilizing SEL in the EFL learning classroom.
