The globalization era needs qualified human resources in order to participate and compete with other nations. Education is one important factor in setting the Human Development Index (HDI) that shows how a country has prepare and developed the citizen Indonesia nowadays is still in progressing to prepare the human resources through the national education system. The objective of this paper is to discuss the role of the Indonesian Government in the National Education System in developing the human resources quality. The method used library research and analyzed descriptively. It is important to note the government plays an important role and should plan the steps to achieve the education's goals and should be serious and have commitment to make more prosperity for the people.
