This research is aimed to analyse quality of high school history textbooks between 1975-2008 from presentation perspektive that develop students' ability in independence study. Research subjects are 12 textbooks which were used in teaching-learning process along 4 periods of national curriculum, i,e, 1975, 1984, 1994 and 2006. The methods of analysis uses textbook criteria which an created by BSNP in 2011 that is related to presentation aspects. The results show that understanding about the importance of presentation aspects occurres in 19984's curriculum and it grow in the next periods. The growth tops at 2006's curriculum , because at the time BSNP has already established textbook criteria in national wide.
