Isi artikelThis article reviews the literature on the threat of AIDS to migrant laborers and seasonal farmworkers in the United States. The review includes a sociodemographic profile of migrants in the United States, estimations of HIV prevalence, and a summary of AIDS- and condomrelated knowledge, beliefs, and behaviors. In addition, migrationrelated HIV exposure categories and cultural factors that frame the risk for contracting AIDS in the migrant population are summarized. Finally, directions for future research and prevention interventions needed to address an emerging epidemic are discussed.
