The last decade has seen a fast-changing business environment which triggers various companies to develop adaptation strategies in order to maintain their existence. The aforementioned fast-changing environment has led managements to acknowledge the importance of human resource for good performance which parameters include profitability level, sustainability, competitiveness, adaptability and flexibility. Skills, knowledge, and other personal attributes describes competency can distinguish the performance of a person. Competency is one of the main factors which determine the performance improvement of a company and development of well-tailored man power criteria. It can be concluded that through competence building, a company can create employees whose capabilities match the job requirements.
