Isi artikel
Hull form with lower resistance and performing well in high speed is a great desire for fast marine vehicles. To realize the idea, three semiplaning monohull forms with transom stern were designed by focusing on waterline entrance angle. Models of the hull forms were tested at towing tank. The towing tank was calibrated by running Fridsma model with turbulence stimulation. The result shown very small discrepancy between Fridsma model and the used tank, therefore the tank could be used to test the models. The testing was run a range of Froude number and a range of Reynolds number for three locations of center of gravity from the transom and were applied three loading conditions. The results show that location of center of gravity 0.4L become the most seaworthy among the three location. The model with 9.50 waterline entrance angle shown good performance with lower total resistance coefficient at higher Froude number. Therefore, theoretically this waterline entrance angle was the best one to be applied for designing marine monohull fast vehicles.
