This study aims to determin to anatomy of bamboo apus residing in coastal areas and know the different anatomical characteristic of bamboo apus which causes the diffarence in position along the stem (base, middle and tip). The result showed anatomical characteristic of bamboo apus have fiber length ranges from 3.307 to 3.600 mm, thick cell wall ranged from 2.448 microns to 2.634 microns, fiber diameter ranged from 7.435 microns to 8.111 microns. Analysis of variance showed that the position in the steam of the base, middle, and end does not significantly affect the anatomy of bamboo apus both for fiber length, cell wall thickness, lumen diameter and diameter as well. Calculated Fhit is smaller than the ftab at the level 95% (0.05) for all the anatomical features of bamboo in the analysis.
