The role of the national conglomerates and that of the economic growth are closely related. In the era of deregulation the role of private sector is also important, but the remaining question is can the national conglomerates participate successfully in reducing poverty and inequality. In reviewing the Indonesian economic prospect, we have to consider the external factors, including the participation of the conglomerates.
