In a country where the highest power is in the hands of the people, general election constitutes a process in which representatives of the people are elected periodically. These representatives elect the president and the vice president who then form the government. General election held every five years is a point of departure of a mechanism adpted in a consensus manner in our country. If we observe the process minutely, we will see that there are still overlaps here and there that leave room for improvements. Therefore, a five years state calender needs to be established by the congress as an operational mechanism.
