The current study evaluates the usability of A-Class Learning Content Management System (LCMS) with respect to Zaharias & Poylymenakou’s (2009) eight parameters of usability, which emphasizes on the affective domain and intrinsic motivation of the users. Usability is the effectiveness, efficiency, and satisfaction with which users achieve specified goals in particular environments (ISO-9241). The participants consist of 133 eighth and ninth grader students, and 4 teachers who have used A-Class LCMS for two years, accompanied with other e-learning platforms. For collecting the data, questionnaires for students and teachers, and interview questions for teachers were developed by adapting from Junus et al. (2015) study. The data were analysed by counting the mean score of each item in the questionnaires and compared it to the interview results. The result shows that A-Class LCMS generally has good usability in almost every parameter, with the interactivity of the learning contents, various features of assessment, and the accessibility of A-Class LCMS considered as its strengths. However, the result also shows that A-Class LCMS has poor usability in terms of providing adequate collaboration features and in handling issues. This result of this research also reveals the main factors which affect the user’s perception of the usability of A-Class LCMS are the interactivity and the user’s technological knowledge. |
