Isi artikelEducators are called upon to draw the necessary educational implications from the fact that in this transitional period of sex morality, sharply conflicting value systems exist among which no consensus is possible. Six contending value systems are analyzed along a repressive-permissive continuum; these systems must be evaluated and an "open forum" created if teachers are to have the dialogue with youth essential for a meaningful educational process. Since most values in our official sex codes have become competing alternatives, the basic values of sex education must be sought in the core values of a democratic society.
