Isi artikel
The paper presents a genetic algorithm for solving a single container loading problem. The genetic algorithm proposes as a new approach for CLP, which emerged from a case study in an aerospace industry. A three-layer chromosome representation is proposed to use; which layer-1 represents the combination of orderentry box in to the container; layer-2 and layer-3 represents the position of box on container. The order-entry is based on a stack building approach, which consists of 2 stages: (1) generate a set of box into towers, and (2) arrange the box towers on the floor of the container. The performance criterion of the GA is to maximize utilization of a single container. This research concludes the genetic algorithm method is effective to solve a single container loading problem.
