Isi artikelInformation Technology (IT) plays an important role in this system to integrate the information within the entire company, integrate the front-office and the back-office. To support manufacturing activities, company has to be able to meet the promised delivery to the customer about the product that they produced. In production department, decision maker has to be able to answer the question about how much the product that will be produced, how mans, and when those materials should be purchased. This research tries to analyze and solve the existing problems related to the material requirement inside SP Guitar. During the research, the author gathered information about the company's business process. Based on the company's business process, the author determined the system requirement for building MRP system. Author used two approaches in analyzing the holding cost. Each approach was included in each lot sizing method. There are three lot sizing methods which were used in this research. They are Lot for Lot, Part Period Balancing, and Wagner-Whitin Algorithm. Since the lowest cost was Lot for Lot, Lot for Lot method was used in building the MRP information system. The web-based MRP information system was built using PHP language and MySQL database. By using PIECES approach, this research produced results in improving the speed of decision making, organizing and managing the data and information needed by the company, saving the total order and holding cost during January-February periods, and controlling/monitoring the order and inventory stock.
