Abstract
Background: Deficit of language performance along with cardiocascular disease increased risk factor of for cognitive impairment in elderly. APOE 4+ as a genetic risk factor of Alzheimer's Disease. This study was to examine risk factors of language performance in elderly with APOE 4+ .
Methods: This study was cross sectional design in 128 elderly with APOE 4+ on periode 2011-2015 at Acive aging research study. Subject had deficit of language performance if score of Boston Naming Test (BNT) < 13 and Verbal Fluency Test (VFT)< 17.
Results : We found that 54.7% and 73.4% subject had lower score of BNT and VFT test with mean aged 65.9±7.2. lower education was significantly as risk factor of deficit language performance (p<0.05;OR BNT: 4.79; OR VFT; 3.33). HDL and hypertension was significantly with one of them (HDL vs BNT; p< 0.05; OR:2.85),(Hypertension vs VFT (p< 0.05; OR:14.0). Multivariat analyze showed hipertension as a risk factor of deficit VFT likely 3.2 times.
Conclusion: Hypertension as a risk factor of deficit language performance (verbal fluency) in elderly with APOE e4+
