Patients experience progressive, cognitive decline and eventually need continuing care and supervision. Even though a curative treatment of the disease is curently impossible, some drugs can be used to slow down its progression. Given the impact of AD, there is an urgent need for effective treatment. Ginkgo has become an increasingly well medicinal for AD. The various compounds found in Ginkbo may play protective role in different stages of cognitive decline. The clinical efficacy of the The standardized Ginkgo Biloba ekstrak EGB 761 in AD and Vascular Dementia has been found to be effective in the treatment of behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia (BPSD). ln this article we will review several RCT and guidelines about EGB 761.
