In the legal aspect, one diagnosed by a doctor or psychiatrist with mental illness, has autonomy and rights as citizen. Very likely, the competence of the patient may build a sense of autonomy. During the therapy, one may even propose his rejection, even before or after the verdict by the doctor who speaks as expert in the field.
