Integrating nationalism and globalism with the thoughts of the Eastern ethics, has caused conflicts in the minds of the Indonesian intellectuals. On the other hand, even though, they have learned the Western thoughts passionately and adopted them in some ways, their hearts remain eastern. This clash of thoughts have resulted a confusion in the execution of public policies. The paper reveals the Western and Eastern mindsets that are related to nationalism and globalism.
