This project is a study on package design factors affecting box compression test value (BCT) in order to improve McKee formula for higher accuracy estimation. McKee formula was refined through an addition of two essential factors which has not been concerned in McKee formula from package design aspect. These package design factors were analyzed by using screening DOE. The result showed that box height and box length to width ratio are significant factors affecting BCT value. According to the refinement of the formula, the error of BCT estimation through McKee formula was declined from 32% down to only 12%.
