In wound management, wound dressing is critical as it helps to minimize infection, allow tissue repair, reduce deformity and restore tissue function. The frequency of wound dressing, type of dressing materials to be used are largely dependent on the type of wound and the healing stage of the wound during wound assessment. We formed a work group to conduct this quality improvement project. Using PDCA cycle, we found the root cause of the problem which was lack of knowledge on wound product, unavailability of wound product in the ward that had taken a long time to change patient’s dressing. Using decision matrix, the team decided to create a flip chart guide with product pictures and short description of usage, benefits and cost of products for the nurses as reference. With the implementation of the flip chart as a guide, the nurses were able to save 44 minutes of time to change wound dressing. Nurses’ confidence levels were increased to 100 % nurses’ since the availability of the guide book.
