The recent developments in quality management practices at social area can be evidenced by this study based in a sample of 32 institutions with a quality system consistent with ISO 9001. This empirical study is presented aiming to explain how the dynamics of management by processes, impacts the organisational performance in the social economy institutions. To explore this subject, a theoretical model involving the relational structures to be measured was specified. The model validity was ascertained using the structural equation modeling with Analysis of Moment Structures (AMOS) software. The results obtained from the analysis of the hypothesized model, supported the predictive ability of management by process factors, with a positive direct effect on organizational performance. We also discuss the significance of the model and future issues.
