Rural communities is still the New Order until the reformation era. Although it has had some annual strategic plans or development programs, but it cannot be denied that local communities are still facing many problems, such as: high rates of poverty, low quality of human resources, low economic growth and investment, low quality of management knowledge of natural resources and environment, and inadequate infrastructure, the as a social responsibility. The objective of this study is to discus how the participation of the college in implementation CATURDHARMA of Muhammadiyah University as a social responsibility in an effort to empower underdeveloped rural communities, especially in Pacitan. The method of this study is using consulting method for rural communities. It is concluded that the implementation of the program which has already done by giving consultation on education, economic, and religious activities is used to overcome the problem. (2) the programs are really very expected by society and they hoped that this program can be done continuously.
