The use of languages reflects one's personality. Politeness is the ordinance or custom prevailing in the society, established and agreed upon jointly by a particular community. Language's ordinance should be in accordance with cultural elements that exist in communities and the use of languages in communication. The objective of the study is to show the communication between speaker and receiver in conveying messages and maintaining social relationships by using the expression of politeness, expressions of implicit and preamble without destroying social relations between them. Application of the politeness principles in language characterized by, among others and humble yourself. This study used a qualitative approach based on library research. The results showed that the cultural of a group will affect someone in the act and show language politeness. In addition to linguistic elements, the elements of non-linguistic politeness played a role in shaping the language, so as to create a situation of communication that does not cause misunderstanding and offense at the other person.
