Any stable process does not remain under statistical control unless the determined controls are exercised at regular intervals. Dispersion from the process mean is acceptable only when the variations do not affect the performance and are due to chance causes. Assignable causes which give wide variations in output of the process, immediately needs to be controlled and the process to be brought under statistical control. An effort here is made to find out all the possible assignable reasons giving variations and to minimize the same after taking appropriate action, which includes knowledge management program and root cause analysis thus bringing process under control and only under the influence of chance causes.
