In analysis of very small component, it is very important to know to what extent a target component can be detected in a measurement method. ISO11843 series consider normal distribution when a distribution needs to be assumed for measurements. There is ISO11843 series as a standard regarding the capability of detection. In this paper, approximation methods of Poisson distribution were evaluated from the viewpoint of deriving capability of detection. In this case, this paper was described capability of detection from exact method and investigated which approximation method is the best.
