Because of today’s sophisticated and advanced healthcare technologies and the need for efficient healthcare intervention, cooperation among healthcare institutions in a given region is required. A previous study designed models for regional healthcare cooperation. In this study, we applied the model to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) exacerbation. COPD exacerbation requires an early response because of the acute worsening of dyspnea. Therefore, we designed a regional healthcare cooperation model that considers not only cooperation between medical institutions, but also interprofessional cooperation. We present a method for designing a regional healthcare cooperation model depending on the feature of acute disease.
