Isi artikelIntroduction of Quality management system (QMS) into Healthcare becomes important to assure the quality of medical services. While many hospitals have introduced the QMS, they could not get the expected results. One of the major causes is that hospitals cannot select which of QMS elements should be focused on because the QMS model has not been established. The traditional studies such as the model proposed by The Malcolm Baldrige NationalQuality Award, and by the Japan Council for Quality Health Care are focused on the management principals and the behaviors, and does not proposed the whole composition elements needed in Healthcare. Therefore, our goal is to extract the composition elements and systematize QMS model in Healthcare. First, we examine the basic framework of QMS, and extract 254 composition elements from the 6 popular literatures on QMS. Next, 12 considered features in healthcare are clarified. Based on these, QMS model is systematized. The number of QMS elements is 63. To verify the proposed model, three investigations are done. First is to examine the completeness of the proposed model. Second is to apply the model into the real QMS activities in Hospital B. As a result, we can verify the proposed model.
