Isi artikelAs a vehicle for deployment of TQM concepts, Daily Management was introduced in Tata Steel in the year 2006. While it has reached to a certain stage of maturity leading to stability of most process parameters, due to changing environment, change in requirements from the next processes, change in inputs, or change in resources of own process, it is required to change the process itself and hence it was realized that some processes need “Change Management” Change Management is a strategic approach to restore process stability or avoid process disturbance when sudden disturbance occurs or is detected in input, output or process. The goal of Change Management process is to ensure that standardized methods and procedures are used for efficient and prompt handling of all Changes, in order to minimize the impact of Change-related incidents upon service quality, and consequently improve the day-to-day operations of the organization This paper describes how the philosophy of change management has been applied to the backend processes of iron making, the benefits accrued and the way forward.
