Isi artikelManufacturing competence varies from one industry sector to another and among enterprises of different business nature. The competitive environments and priorities also change over time. Performance measurement (PM) is an important means to evaluate the effectiveness of organisational strategies. There is a pressing need for manufacturing enterprises to identify their strategy determinants and performance criteria, and search for feasible approaches that help align their strategy formulation (SF) with performance measures. This paper presents the findings of an interview study on identification of key strategy determinants and performance criteria, drawing upon the experience from practitioners, industry award winners, experts and government officials in Hong Kong. It discusses the implications of devising an integration approach on SF and PM for manufacturing enterprises.
