Knowledge Management (KM) can be used to enhance the ability of organization or research institution that are always struggling with science and technology, and are appropriately utilizing KM by identifying knowledge, knowledge discovery and analysis, knowledge acquisition, knowledge creation via ideas generation, establishment of organizational knowledge bases and knowledge distribution and use. The presence of interaction between the HRs of R&D institution will be able to provide sustainable competitive advantage when both are administrated in a combination of mutual support. Besides that, it also requires organizational units with the use of IT as a knowledge portal so that all employees can access it easily. Also commitment and coordination from all parties will be able to help implementation of KM, therefore the performance of R&D institute are expected to increase.
