| With the enactment of the DKI Jakarta Governor Regulation No. 89 of 2018 which regulates schools that adopt the Curriculum 2013 to integrate English subject with the local content subject, was in fact has not been effectively complied by some private schools. That become the initial purpose of this research, which was to develop an English integrated with Betawi culture learning module for 4th grade elementary students. To develop the learning module, the approach selected was the Content-Based Instruction (CBI) so that the other purpose in this research was to find out the components of the learning module that correspond to the approach. This learning module was organized by adopting a number of Research and Development (R & D) steps proposed by Borg and Gall (1983), namely “Research and Information Collecting, Planning, Develop Primary Form of Product, Preliminary Field, and Main Product Revision.” After this learning module finished being developed, which was then addressed as the First Draft, the next step was to obtain validation and evaluation from the experts. The result of the evaluation of the learning module done by the experts showed that the designed learning module had Validity of 3.38 and Practicality of 3.08. Based on the score interpretation which was calculated with Ideal Mean (Mi) and Ideal Standard Deviation (SDi), the validity of the learning module is “very good” and the practicality of the learning module is “good”. Thus it can be concluded that the designed learning module is suitable to be used by the 4th grade elementary students. On the other hand, the result of the literature review of CBI, which also supported by the result of the Needs Analysis showed that the components of the learning module were Syllabus, Learning Outcomes, Prior-Knowledge Warm-Up Activity, Interactive Language Skills Activity, Vocabulary Review, and Target Grammar Discussion. |
