Isi artikel
Outstanding contributors to the field of educational technology come from diverse disciplines. Among those who come from cognitive psychology, John D. Bransford stands out as an excepttionally important contributor to our understanding of human cognition, especially with respect to how learning can be supported by technology-enhanced learning environments. Brandsdford's early research challanged the then dominant behaviorist view of learning by drawing attention to the constructive nature of human cognition (Baars, 1986). His collaborative educational design research projects, including the Jasper Woodbury Problem Solving Series, established new benchmarks for effective interactive learning environments (Cognititon and Technology Group at Vanderbilt, 1999). Bradsford's research and theoritical perspectives are well presented in his co-edited book. How People Learn (Bransford, Brown, & Cocking, 1999), which provides a comprehensive framework of understanding and optimizing human learning. This framework for understanding and optimizing human learning. This framework provides a foundation on a which a meaningful integration of technology may be built into effective learning environments.
