Mall Ciputra has 98 hydrant box units and the locations of them do not optimal, because there is some hydrant boxes are located side by side. Therefore it is necessary to evaluate the optimal number of hydrant boxes using the Set Covering Problem approach with the Binary Integer Programming method, in order to obtain the minimum costs incurred for maintaining hydrant boxes each month. Determinations of the covering area are generally influenced by the radius of range and capacity. However, in this research, the covering areas are influenced by the location of the hydrant box and the building structure. Determining of the covering area used AutoCad, in order to obtain a mathematical formulation. To solve the problem of Binary Integer Programming using LINGO 11.0 software, in order to obtain the minimum number of hydrant boxes. The minimum number of hydrant boxes that are obtained are 54 units and they has been fulfilled the hydrant boxes needs in Ciputra Mall, so the differences between the current number of hydrant boxes and the minimum hydrant boxes are 44 unit hydrant boxes. Therefore, the maintenance costs of hydrant box that can be reduced is Rp. 22,000,000 per month. |
