The era of globalization has produced both positive and negative impact to almost human life aspects today, including education. One of the significant impacts is the role and position of nationalism. Nationalism in most developing countries has been blurred to the rise of ethno-nationalism which can created social and political problems. This article discusses the role of education in maintain and even strengthening the role of nationalism in the globalization era. It argues that by focusing in the aspect of inclusiveness, respect to human rights, democracy, promoting the culture of peace in the curriculum, education then plays a very crucial role in the era globalization. Only by inserting the above issues then education, particularly higher education will be able to deter the negative impacts of globalization.
