At what point are interpersonal relationships among family members associated with the managerial behavior of these same individuals? Does perceived agreement between spouses relate to managerial functioning when standards and accompanying satisfactions for allocation of resources are being considered? Interviews with 104 wives of families with at least one school-age child and residing in middle-income areas provided information for the study. Management variables related to family standards and satisfactions as well as relationship variables of marital agreement and social-emotional activity were investigated. Support for a hypothesis of association was found. Husband-wife consensus, as perceived by the wife, was associated with the wife's satisfaction with her household organization and with the amount of help she received from the family members. The age of the oldest child was an independent variable which had a significant influence on the amount of the wife's satisfaction
