Isi artikelDiarrhea is a dangerous diseases for children under five years old. It’s one of main caused death and illness for children in the developing country such as Indonesia. Many data showed that the sociodemographic and environmental factors affected diarrhea of children under five years old in national scope. The aim of this research is to know the risk of sociodemographic and environmental factors on diarrhea of children under five year old in regional. In this research was used method of analytical cross sectional approach. The Indonesia Demographic and Health Survey 2007 (IDHS 2007) data of children under five years old was used as sample. Univariate analysis was descript the sociodemographic and environmental factors. Bivariate analysis with Poisson regression to know correlation between each sociodemographic and environmental factors on diarrhea among children under five years old in all regional. Out of 17.814 children under five years old, 17.618 had complete data. In all regional showed that children age influenced the incidence of diarrhea. Children with age 1 year old were the most vulnerable age on diarrhea. Education of mother influenced the diarrhea incidence in Sumatera, Jawa-Bali dan Sulawesi. Eventhought, children with education of mother in elementary were the most vulnerable the incidence of diarrhea. Children of Sumatra that lived in rural rather than lived in urban had a 1.4 on diarrhea (IRR=1,37, 95%, CI=1,17-1,59). Also in Sulawesi, children that lived in rural rather than lived in urban had a 1,7 on diarrhea (IRR=1,55: 95% CI=1,23-1,95). The research showed that influence each factors on diarrhea of children under five years was different in all regional. The children age and toilet facilities were significantly influence on diarrhea of children under five years in almost regional.
