Isi artikelReflective teaching asserts that education is a process of formation. The main attention of the learning process is on the development of the learner as an individual. Reflective teaching aims at developing the learners’ competence and soft skills. In the practice of teaching in Indonesia, which mostly focuses on the cognitive aspect of the subject learned, reflective teaching may offer an integrated learning and education. In the current situation of education which seems to neglect the development of students’ soft skills, reflective teaching can be a relevant approach. It can be valuable as a healthy questioning attitude toward the practice of teaching profession. This paper illustrates how reflective teaching can be developed and implemented in Language Learning Assessment class at the English Education Study Program of Sanata Dharma University. It presents the main value of reflective teaching as the students and the teacher experienced in the class. The implementation of reflective teaching is done by training the students to process their learning experience both individually and in groups. The students would be trained to experience, recall, consider and evaluate the activities in the learning process and relate them to a broader purpose as to question what and why and help them to set for planning and action for improvement. This paper will define what reflective teaching is and how the reflection takes place in the class and then followed by the presentation of the discoveries.
