The study aimed at developing the contextual vocabulary for the third grade students of elementary school and the interactive multimedia for the contextual vocabulary. The rapid growth of multimedia technology over the last decade has brought about fundamental changes to computing, entertainment and education. The contextual vocabulary is chosen because it is used to interact among the students, among the students and their teachers and it is also used to communicate in real social context, not only at school but also in real daily life. The ability to develop and to create this kind of vocabularies becomes an important part of the students’ competence and development, and hopefully they will be able to interact among others. Introducing the teaching and learning system by interactive multimedia is appropriate to most subjects and it can be used by students anytime and anywhere, so the students can study themselves
