Isi artikelPeer observation is one of the assessment tools used to evaluate the students’ teaching performance in the Micro Teaching Class at Sanata Dharma University. Observing peer performance help students raise their learning awareness in understanding more the basic teaching skills. Every time a student teaches his/her friends in class, there are 3 peer observers who give feedback to his/her performance. During one semester, each student is evaluated at least twice by his/her peers and supervisor. The observation sheet that assesses the student-teacher’s basic teaching skills consists of two parts: the closed-ended and open-ended types. This study focuses on the second part, i.e. the open-ended part that contains two questions: (1) what went well? and (2) what needs improvement?. The researcher intends to investigate how much contribution peers can give to their friends’ performance especially their teaching performance by identifying aspects mostly observed by the peers. Hopefully, the result of this study might benefit those who are in the area of teacher training.
