The present study has attempted to investigate some of the child effects upon parents. Utilizing a structured laboratory situation and an intervention approach,role playing children were trained to behave differently in each of three situations in an effort to determine possible effects upon the mothers. Differences in mothers' reinforcing behavior and teaching style were noted in response to the children's changing behaviors.The findings lend support to the notion that children's behavior has an effect upon parental responses.
