It was hypothesized that interactional factors are more closely associated with the satisfaction of the Parisian urban wife with her husband's understanding than the socioeconomic factors. The data indicate that there is a clear association between many aspects of the interaction in the couple and the wife's satisfaction with her husband's understanding. These interactional aspects are the communication in the couple, the power structure,the realization of the planning of family life, and the agreement in the couple, with communication being the most relevant
