Isi artikel
This paper investigates the relative effects of level of parental and peer influence on degrees of conformity to administrative norms in educational settings and to legal norms in police and court actions. In terms of scores derived from indicators of counsel and support, the data indicate that: (1) high parent and peer counsel provide the optimum condition for channeling behavior in the direction of social conformity, (2) the con;unction of low parental with high peer and high parental with low peer counsel provides a similar but lower level of constraint for conforming behavior, and (3) low levels of peer and parental counsel reveal a significantly lower level of conformity.
