In the modern Greek movies analyzed, the "bad" girls, that is, the mare emancipated and independent ones, were consistently portrayed as rich girls; while the "god" girls, who lave unconditionally with an almost maternal lave, were always portrayed as poor girls. This inverse relationship between morality and possession of (or aspiration toward) money was examined in terms of traditional values, class stereotypes, and conditions far social mobility within the Greek culture.
