This paper is intended to clarify the change of attitude toward family size value of all the married women (not a sample) living in a Korean middle town. Field interviews were conducted using a structured questionnaire. Main findings in this survey are as follows: (1) The respondents' altitude toward family-size values varies depending on what are asked: the ideal number of children, wanted number, etc. (2) There is a markedly consistent relationship between both socioeconomic background and modernization variables and the respondents' attitude toward the wanted number and the ideal number of children. (3) The expected number and additionally wanted number of children considerably differ depending on the age of the respondents and their number of living children, particularly number of living sons.
