This article summarizes the findings of a content analysis of help-request letters received by the American Association of Marriage Counselors. The data show significant sex differentials in revealed marital problems; this was especially the case regarding affectional and sexual problems. The analysis also shows significant sex differences with regard to revealed help-seeking behavior and emotional orientation.
